Investigating photochemical reactions for scale up in continuous processes
PhD student: James AlexanderStart date: 1st September 2024
This project aims to investigate the feasibility of photochemistry in an oscillatory baffled photo reactor for various applications such as polymerisation, deodorisation, bleaching and aiding neutral pH catalysis. To understand reaction schemes will be the first step, kinetic models will then be built up to extract reaction kinetics, examine parameters affecting kinetics and predict reaction conversions. The feasibility of continuous photochemical systhesis in a continuous oscillatory baffled photo reactor will be tested and demonstrated.
